SPECIAL ONE DAY POW-WOW TOURS

Earthcode Tours is pleased to announce we will be offering special one day tours for the public and international visitors to directly experience an authentic aspect of Indigenous culture – the Powwow of the great northern plains. The powwow is a celebration where Indigenous Nations gather from all over the country to dance, sing, drum, feast, and visit. Filled with color and sound, Pow Wows are exhilarating events, as participants of all ages, from children to elders, wear exquisitely crafted regalia highlighting beadwork and detailed with feathers, bells, and elaborate traditional craftsmanship. We will witness the Grand Entry which is a parade of all participants dressed in their finery. Participants will be given an opportunity to dance in the intertribal dancing. Arts and Crafts stands, and food concession booths are available. Grand Entries are held on Friday evenings at 7:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1:00 PM. Earthcode can accommodate 8-10 people to attend each day. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate visitors who are staying in Banff, Canmore, and Lake Louise. Earthcode will provide a handbook which explains the many aspects of the powwow and general etiquette guidelines for visitors to observe. Great photo opportunities at every pow-wow!

June 30 – July 2: SIKSIKA NATION POWWOW

• June 30^th: Depart Calgary at 4:00 PM on Friday evening and return at 10:00 PM. Siksika Nation is located about one hour east of Calgary.
• July 1^st: Depart Calgary at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning and return at 6:00 PM.
• July 2^nd: Depart Calgary at 11:00 AM on Sunday morning and return at 6:00 PM.

Costs per participant from Calgary (Adult): $225.00                                              Family discounts available.

FOR VISITORS IN LAKE LOUISE/BANFF/CANMORE:

It’s recommended to book the Saturday and Sunday day tours considering travelling time & distance.

• July 1^st, Departure time from Lake Louise/Banff/Canmore will be at approximately 9AM with a return time at 9:00 PM. Total excursion time will a 12-hour day tour.
• July 2^nd, Departure time from Lake Louise/Banff/Canmore will be at approximately 9AM with a return time at 9:00 PM. Total excursion time will a 12-hour day tour.

Pick-ups from hotels will vary and will be planned accordingly.

July 7- 16: CALGARY STAMPEDE ONE DAY TOURS

OFFERED TO VISITORS STAYING IN LAKE LOUISE/BANNF/CANMORE.

• July 7 – July 11: July 14 – July 16: Departure time from Lake Louise will be at 9:00 AM with pick-ups in Banff and Canmore. Return time will be 9:00 PM. Total excursion time will be 12 hours. General participation in regular Stampede events and participation in the Powwow demonstrations at the Indian Village which highlights the Nations of Treaty 7.  All participants will be responsible for their gate admission costs into the Stampede grounds and to all other attractions. Earthcode will only be responsible for parking costs. At an additional cost, Earthcode Tours can provide flexibility on scheduling if a group of customers request exclusivity.

Costs per participant (Adult): $275.00 per day tour. Family discounts available. 

• July 12 and July 13: Earthcode will offer tours for groups to attend the Calgary Stampede Powwow Showcase at the Saddledome on the Stampede grounds from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Departing time from Lake Louise/Banff/ Canmore will be at 9 AM with a return time at 9 PM. Total excursion time will be approximately 11 hours. This special event will feature championship dancing from Indigenous Nations from all over Canada and USA. JULY 28-30: TSUUTINA NATION POWWOW & RODEO

• July 28: Depart from Calgary at 5:00 PM on Friday afternoon and return at 10:00 PM. The Tsuutina powwow arbour is located at Bragg Creek, a 30-minute drive from Calgary.
• July 29: Depart from Calgary at 11:00 AM and return at 6:00 PM.

Family discounts available.

• July 30: Depart from Calgary at 11:00 AM and return at 6:00 PM.

FOR VISITORS IN LAKE LOUISE/BANFF/CANMORE

• July 28: Depart from Lake Louise/Banff/Canmore at 4:00 PM on Friday afternoon and return at 10:00 PM. The Tsuutina powwow arbour is located at Bragg Creek, a 2.5 hour drive from Lake Louise/Banff.
• July 29: Depart from Calgary at 11:00 AM and return at 6:00 PM.

SEPTEMBER 1 -3: STONEY NAKODA POWWOW

• September 1^st: Depart from Calgary at 5:00 PM on Friday afternoon and return at 10:00 PM. The Stoney Nakoda powwow arbour is located at Morley, a 60-minute drive from Calgary.
• September 2^nd: Depart from Calgary at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning and return at 6:00 PM. Family discounts available.
• September 3^rd: Depart from Calgary at 11:00 AM on Sunday morning and return at 6:00 PM.

Costs per Participant: $225.00   Family discounts available.

FOR VISITORS IN LAKE LOUISE/BANFF/CANMORE
